FISKE BROTHERS  HAVE  OVER 100 YEARS OF MOTORING HISTORY

Fiske Brothers Motors Pty Ltd is one of the oldest established automotive names in the industry with its origins going back over 100 years. It was in the mid 1800’s when a young Mr. Fiske from Portsmouth, England, fell in love with a blacksmiths daughter after having his horses tended to in Melbourne. They married and the family ran Fiske horses bazaar in the city on the corner of Queen and Lonsdale Streets. This also was appointed the first original site for a St Andrews Ambulance depot in Victoria, Australia.

Then in 1914 the next generation moved to Caulfield and ran their stables in the paddocks of Glen Iris. With the onset of the motorcar, they offered service, repairs, and sales for many makes, and ran a bus line through the suburbs of Melbourne for many years. David Fiske’s father, Thomas E. Fiske re-established the family company with changing times, to the then remote area of Box Hill; Successfully handling many new car franchises from 1953 to 1986. After his passing, son David continued to maintain the integrity and goodwill of the company and moved to a Ringwood site.

Now after 14 years at Ringwood the company is still very much in operation in its new location in Beresford Road, Lilydale.

David Fiske says: “I felt it was time for a change after our two young sons were born to revise and improve what we could offer to the public. This new showroom location has literally halved our overheads allowing us to pass on the saving to every vehicle sold. Now it’s possible for us to offer the same quality product with genuine marked savings, and our clients are the winners.”

“we take a different approach to most car outlets in that there is absolutely no pressure, every client is treated as our family in a relaxed friendly environment. I personally am able to handle every aspect of the sale, from the greeting to the delivery and get great pride and satisfaction out of working at and maintaining our renowned goodwill which has been built up over a 100 hundred years. After four generations, you could say the car game is in my blood – and I love it!”

“I welcome anybody’s direct enquiry; don’t hesitate to call me for honest assistance anytime.”
